HISTORY
AMP Transformers trade as an Exempted Micro Enterprise in terms of B.B.B.E.E. legislation.
The corporation acquired the business which was formerly known as AMPTEC, which
traded for ten years. Amp Transformers opened a branch in Welkom in July 2007 to
service existing and new customers for the Free State and Northern Cape Regions.
GRADING
The corporation was graded by Veriscreen on request of Harmony Mines and was graded as 75% compliant and satisfactory. Details of Veriscreen can be provided on request for external verification.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Our aim is to help our clients maximize their operational effectives with a preventative maintenance attitude, therefore improving the uptime of their critical electrical supply equipment, through quality servicing, maintenance, modification and repair of all electrical switchgear, mini-subs and transformers used in the mining and municipal areas. At the same time offering a 24 hour emergency service.
CAPABILITY
We have various teams, which performs our services, of which each is headed by a qualified technician. All our teams utilize equipment and vehicles adequate for the performance of the work. The latest technology in vacuum oil filtration results in cleaner oil with less time required on site.
We can take on small or large projects, working on transformers up to 20 MVA. Work can be conducted on an “as required” basis, as part of long term maintenance and monitoring contract or in an emergency, where necessary. We also do cross border work in neighboring countries.
TESTING
All oil samples are tested by qualified external service provider according to quality standards. These can be provided on request.

QUALITY
The corporation works within the ISO 9002 quality framework and an in-house quality management program is in place. Oil purification machines, vehicles, testing equipment and tools are inspected on a daily basis and all testing equipment is audited and tested according to SABS standards every six months.
